In a highly complex, interconnected, and layered world, Elko Braas, through his artistic practice, acts as a bridge between abstract, intangible concepts and physical reality. His focus lies in the dynamic interplay between digital and analog systems. By employing experimental methods, he transforms transient phenomena into immersive installations and live sound performances.
In his work, Braas modulates connections, establishes systematic linkages, and investigates their outcomes. The most modularly designed components—composed of electronic objects, digital control units, poetic ideas, and audio compositions—thereby evolve into complex artistic systems.
Elko Braas was born in Eckernförde (Germany) and graduated as a Master's student from the Kunsthochschule Kassel under the supervision of Florian Slotawa in 2022. Since then, he has showcased his art in various contexts, including Rotterdam, Prague, Cologne, and Kassel. Starting in 2024, he serves as an artistic associate in the Research Area New Media at the Kunsthochschule Kassel.
